Jose Mourinho has urged Chelsea's critics to judge his
struggling team at Christmas, when the table will
represent a "better picture."
Mourinho's Chelsea have endured a poor start to the
defence of their title, with the side currently 12th in the
table ahead of Saturday's game at West Ham.
The Blues returned to winning ways last weekend as
they defeated Aston Villa 2-0, and Mourinho is confident
they are heading in the right direction.
He said: "In every moment you can take notice of the
table. But we used to say that half of the championship,
end of December, you get a better picture.
"Everybody will have played 19 matches. Half way is a
good moment to look at the table, but every moment
means something."
Chelsea trail leaders Manchester City by 10 points, and
Mourinho added: "At this moment they are where they
are, not because someone gave them something, but
because they played for it."
